How the experiment works
What this is. The Great Friend Experiment is a series of short quizzes and polls about adult friendship, run by HeyFriend. It's meant to be fun and to help us learn what people want from friendship. It is not a scientific study, a personality test, or a way to predict whether two people will become friends.
What we ask. Questions about how you like to spend time with friends, what you're looking for, and what makes friendship hard. Email, first name, and ZIP code are optional and only collected if you join the Founding Cohort.
How we share results. We only publish combined results, never individual answers or names. We wait for at least 300 answers to a question, 50 from a group, and 100 from a city or state before posting, and we always say how many people took part and when.
What results can't tell you. Everyone here chose to take part, so results describe participants, not all adults.
How we use your information. To run the experiment, send the emails you signed up for, and, if you gave permission, to help design HeyFriend.
